Due to the commitment and financial cost involved in being a Paper Hug Greetings Ambassador, we require someone to be established in their adult life.
This is not the intent or reason Paper Hug Greetings exists and there should never be pressure on either end, as a patient or as an Ambassador, to talk on the phone, video chat, email, text or meet in person. Ambassador’s are prohibited from initiating this, and should only participate in any of the above if it is initiated by the patient, and the Ambassador is comfortable with it.
NEVER! We respect the privacy of all our participants and we do everything we can to protect their personal information.
Patient assignments can last for up to 24 months.
We are not a pen pal program. Our recipients are told from the start that they are under no obligation to respond directly to their Ambassadors. We are here to encourage, not to add another obligation to our recipient's lives. Our recipients are required to check in with Paper Hug Greetings Administration once a month, and Ambassadors can request a copy of their patient’s check-in each month from the administration.
The Ambassador/patient relationship is strictly postal and store bought cards are just fine!
We know there are many wonderful would-be Ambassadors out there without computers, but our Ambassadors do need to have e-mail capabilities and regular access to it.
